Hi team, welcome to the first Theseus bi-weekly snapshot! Every other week we’ll post a quick rundown of what shipped, what’s coming up, and anything we’re watching.

Overall status

On track. On track for the Oct 30 Pilot and Jan 29 GA of Theseus Platform v1, with multiple deliverables landing over the past few weeks. No blockers expected before the next update.

Highlights

First Pilot use case onboarded. GATE’s iam-data-access service completed Theseus onboarding, which is a dependency for AR’s launch. Shout out to Matthias Käppler and crew for the close partnership!

Migrator is ready for early adopters. Theseus now has a standard database migration process with tracking and rollback, replacing the startup approach that didn’t scale. Kudos to Elliot Forbes and Brian Greene for getting this first deliverable of our DB migration tooling workstream across the line!

The Artifact Registry API is live on api.gitlab.com/rest — the first modular feature spec published there. Kudos to Alberto Bignotti and the API team!

Go and Rust chassis complete. Services scaffolded with bench in either language now come with the standard platform runtime built in — auth, health checks, and observability — so teams get production-grade infrastructure out of the box instead of building it per service. Huge kudos to Schmil Monderer, Lucas Charles, Ryan Wells and the LabBench team for delivering this capability on time!

Fairway services can now expose multiple ports. Services can finally speak gRPC internally and HTTP externally from a single manifest, solving a real blocker for teams like Auth/GATE. Fully backward compatible: existing services keep working, no migration required. Thanks to Brittany Wilkerson and Matthew J. Hoad for their hard work getting this delivered in a timely manner!

AutoFlow’s first iteration shipped on Caproni and is ready to try via the Get Started guide. As our fourth customer, AutoFlow remains on track to complete onboarding by GA. Next up: Runway staging support. Shout out to the AutoFlow and Caproni teams for the strong collaboration to get us ahead of schedule!

First customer running on OAK. Orbit and Siphon are running on a self-managed Omnibus instance.

Callouts

Looking for Migrator early adopters. Have a service with database migrations? Help us prove the path by following the tutorial and sharing feedback.

Rate limiting added to scope. It isn’t a hard requirement for Pilot or GA, but work is already underway with the rate limiting team, so we’re tracking what lands for each milestone.

Launch-critical work only through GA. New requests go through our intake process and will be reviewed during EOY planning.

Partner dependencies are still evolving. As partner scope shifts, we’re keeping alignment through regular check-ins and decision logs.

Missed the Q2 highlights? Six ships from last quarter, and we’ll share a recap at the end of every quarter.
